Back in June 2024, 50 students and staff at OlaRose’s high school participated in a FiSK Club Service Project, making over 75 cards for kids at Ancilla Orphanage in Nigeria. OlaRose traveled to Nigeria in July 2024, where she and her family held a party for the Ancilla Orphanage kids. She hand-delivered the cards that FiSK Club members made for them. The kids were very excited and grateful to know that friends in the USA were thinking about them. The kids at the orphanage kindly wrote personalized thank-you cards for the students and staff at OlaRose’s school.
17 members came to the FiSK Club meeting on September 19th, during which they enjoyed Nigerian Buttermint Candy as they watched a video of the kids’ reactions to receiving their cards. FiSK Club members were surprised to receive thank-you cards from the kids and enjoyed seeing the kind responses and colorful drawings. All students who participated in the project received service hour certificates.
OlaRose enjoys leading positive service projects like this through FiSK Club, creating a bridge of compassion between continents, and showing the power of art and writing.
