WROC News 10 NBC interviews OlaRose Ndubuisi, the 15-year-old recipient of the “Do The Right Thing Award” by the City of Rochester

OlaRose was selected for the “Do The Right Thing Award” by the City of Rochester. She was chosen for her bravery, leadership, heroism, advocacy and positive role model behavior in spreading scoliosis awareness through her project “Finding Scoliosis Kindly (FiSK)” using her poetry, art, music, photography, and her FiSK research survey and t-shirt fundraiser which seeks to support free scoliosis screening in underserved communities in US and Nigeria.

OlaRose was honored in a public ceremony on March 2nd, 2023 at 10:30am by the City of Rochester where she received her award and several prizes. She was also invited to read one of her poems at the awards ceremony.

As a winner of the Do The Right Thing Award, OlaRose is eligible for a college scholarship in her senior year of high school.
